migrating a website

As soon as your new websaite hosting account with PingPipe is setup you will receive a Welcoming email.

1) Backup all of your site data from your existing host.

2) Upload your site to our servers. There is detailed instructions for this in your Welcoming email; and if you run into any difficulties all that's required is a technical support ticket from your PingPipe control panel, and the next available technician will respond.

(see also the ftp section of our knowledge base)

3) visit the site where you purchased your domain name, in order to point it towards your PingPipe account. In your domain registrar's control panel you will see a field named "DNS" or "nameservers". Erase whatever information is there, and enter PingPipe's nameserver information:

NS1.PINGPIPE.COM

NS2.PINGPIPE.COM

4) allow 24 to 72 hours for the changes to propagate throughout the internet.

5) once the changes have propagated you will be able to cancel your account with your old provider.

If you run into any difficulties please enter a support ticket from the  PingPipe client area.
